Why does nobody talk about how loud a jobsite gets at 7am when everyone fires up at once
I was on a residential framing job in Tucson last Tuesday and around 6:55 everyone started their saws and guns at basically the same time. Six guys, two circ saws, three nail guns, a compressor, and a radio someone left on a country station. For about ten seconds it was pure noise soup and I could not hear my foreman yelling my name from eight feet away. I finally got his attention and he told me he lost part of his hearing in his left ear from years of this and just never bothered with plugs. That hit me because I am 34 and already catch myself saying what a lot, especially after a full day of cutting. I went to the truck and grabbed the cheap foam plugs I keep in my bag for shooting, and the rest of the day felt way less draining. Now I keep a bag of them in my nail pouch. Has anyone found a brand of muffs that actually stays put when you are bent over all day?
