I thought the $400 cordless framing nailer was a waste. Used it on a garage build last month.
Changed my mind completely. Lighter than my old pneumatic. No hose to drag. Battery lasted all day. Did the whole roof sheathing without a single trip to the compressor. What cordless tools actually save you time on site?

Ever tried the cordless circular saw?

That's the thing though, it's not a whole new system. Most of these cordless nailers run on the same battery packs as the drills and saws you already own. You're just adding the tool itself. The real time save is not having to set up and move an air compressor around all day.

Okay but are we all just ignoring the price tag? Four hundred bucks is a lot for a nail gun! My old pneumatic one still works fine, it just needs the hose. I get the battery is handy, but that's a whole new tool system to buy into. Feels like solving a problem I don't really have.
