Vent: my $1,100 resume writer did less for me than a free library class in Austin
I dropped $1,100 on a resume writer last summer and got back the same buzzword soup I could have written myself, but the free class at the Austin library taught me to cut my resume from 2 pages to 1 by listing results instead of duties. The paid version got me 2 callbacks in 3 months, and the trimmed one got me 5 interviews in 3 weeks. Has anyone else noticed that the cheap or free route beats the expensive one for stuff like this?
