Pro tip: stopped writing cover letters for warehouse jobs and started walking in with my forklift cert
I applied to 23 warehouse jobs in Columbus over 5 months with custom cover letters and got 2 callbacks. Then a buddy said to just walk in and ask for the shift supervisor with my cert in hand. I did that at 4 places in one week and got 3 interviews and 2 offers. The cert sheet and a firm handshake did more in 10 minutes than 5 months of typing essays. Has anyone else had better luck showing up in person for trade or warehouse work?
Man that's rough, 23 applications and only 2 callbacks would've had me pulling my hair out. Glad your buddy told you to just show up because that clearly worked way better. Some jobs really do just want to see your face and know you can actually do the work.
