My manager told me I reply too fast, I thought she was nuts
She said my instant Slack answers made the team stop thinking and just wait for me to solve everything. I cut my response time from 5 minutes to 2 hours on non-urgent stuff, and now people actually read the docs first. Has anyone else been told their helpfulness was the problem?
The whole "helpfulness was the problem" thing is a BIG pattern I see everywhere, not just at work. People get so used to someone carrying the load that they forget they can lift it themselves. Once you step back, it’s crazy how fast everyone else steps up, like you were holding them down just by being quick.
