Had a weird chat with my neighbor about salary expectations
He's a retired engineer and told me I should be asking for 20% more than what I thought was normal for my admin role in Dallas. Has anyone else realized they've been lowballing themselves this whole time?

Retired engineer knows how numbers work. He's right that most people sell themselves short because they're scared to ask. Dallas admin jobs are paying way more than people think right now. You gotta look at actual job postings not just what your buddies are making.
