Got laid off on a Tuesday at 2pm, and the one thing I did right was the boring stuff
Our whole team got cut at a company in Boise last month, 14 of us in one meeting, and the HR rep kept saying "you'll land on your feet." What actually helped was a note I started keeping two jobs back, just a running doc with every project, the numbers I moved, and names of people who saw me do it, because when they asked for my resume I had nothing ready. I pulled 6 strong bullets out of that doc in about 20 minutes instead of staring at a blank page, then sent short messages to 3 former managers the same night. For anyone who's been through a layoff, did you rebuild your resume from scratch or did you already have something written down?
