I logged every time a banned cartoon got mentioned in my local retro TV group, and the number surprised me
So I'm in this Facebook group for old school TV fans in Sacramento, and about 8 months ago I started keeping a tally on my phone every time someone brought up a cartoon that got pulled or edited. I figured it would be like 10 or 15 posts max. Last week I hit 87. The craziest part is that 41 of those were about the same three shows, and two of them weren't even banned for the reason people kept saying. I double checked most of them against old newspaper TV listings from the 90s and a few forum archives, and the stories got passed around so much that the real reason is basically gone now. What surprised me more is that only 6 people ever posted actual sources, everyone else just ran with whatever they heard. I'm not saying the shows weren't pulled, they clearly were, but the why part is a mess. Has anyone else noticed a handful of specific cartoons eating up almost every discussion in groups like this, or is my group just weird?
