My buddy's online mess made me clean up all my past posts
I started deleting old social media content after a pal got slammed for a dumb joke from years back. Now I check everything before I post, which takes time but stops me from worrying. Do you think this kind of self-policing is a good thing or does it hurt honest talk?

Kinda funny, I used to roll my eyes at this stuff. But after a few close calls, I'm all for cleaning house.

How many close calls did it take?

Know exactly what you mean, Alice. I was the same way for the longest time, thinking a lot of safety talk was just overkill. Then you see how fast a normal situation can go sideways, and it clicks. That shift in your head, from eye-rolling to being all in on cleaning house, it's totally real. It's not about being scared, it's just about being smart after you've seen how things can go. Glad you're there too, it makes the whole thing feel less like you're just being extra for no reason.
