My crimper died mid-job yesterday and I was screwed

Was running cat6 for a new office build and my Klein crimper just snapped the ratchet mechanism at 3pm. Had to drive 45 minutes to the nearest supply house to grab a replacement. Anyone else keep a backup tool kit in the truck for emergencies?

Keep a whole spare bag in the truck now after that happened to me once.

Blew a tire on my buddy's truck out past the quarry a couple years back. He had a full change of clothes, a jacket, a towel, and even a pair of boots all crammed into a duffel bag under the back seat. He pulled out dry jeans and a flannel while I was still standing there in the rain cussing at the flat. Man, I felt like an idiot. Now I keep a spare shirt and a raincoat zipped up in my own seat pouch, right where I can grab it.

Honestly that's the kind of lesson you only learn once. I had a similar thing happen at a mud run a few years back, got completely soaked and had to sit in my car shivering for an hour while everyone else was eating burgers. Now I keep a whole tote bin in the trunk with sweatpants, a hoodie, a spare pair of sneakers, and an old bath towel. Throw in a granola bar and a bottle of water too just in case. Feels like overkill until you need it, then you feel like a genius.
