Wasted $200 on that fancy Blumotion soft-close upgrade kit

Bought the Blumotion Tandembox upgrade kit for my kitchen drawers at Home Depot last month. Turns out my 15 year old cabinets don't have the right mounting holes for the brackets, and I didn't realize until I already cut into the first drawer box. Did anyone else run into this issue with older cabinets, or am I just unlucky with my measurements?

Did Mike double check his tape measure wasn't broken though (it happens more than you'd think)?
