My mom's 1988 KitchenAid mixer finally died last month, and the $180 replacement lasted 4 months
She got almost 37 years out of that thing, my new one started making a grinding noise by summer, and now I keep staring at the repair guy's $95 quote wondering if anything sold today is even built to be fixed, so has anyone found a small appliance lately that actually earns its price tag?
