My $80 Carhartt jacket died after 4 months of normal wear
Bought a Carhartt active jacket from their website in January for $80 because everyone says they last forever. The zipper failed completely by May and the stitching on the cuff started unraveling around the same time. I get that maybe I got a dud, but for that price I expected way more than 4 months out of it. Anybody else had issues with their newer stuff going downhill like this?

Seems like everything's getting made cheaper these days, you know? Paying more for something that barely outlasts a cheap one from the discount rack.

Right there with you @west.anna. Saw a toaster priced at $60 that looks just like a $30 model from two years ago, only smaller and made with thinner plastic. My old microwave finally died after six years, so I grabbed a new one that feels flimsy and rattles when it runs. Feels like planned obsolescence is the norm now, not the exception.

Dude it's getting ridiculous lol. I bought a "premium" coffee maker last year for like $80 and the carafe handle snapped off after three months. Meanwhile my parents still have a big clunky Hamilton Beach one from 1992 that works fine. We're definitely getting played.
