Warning: my best sales day ever almost got ruined by a $500 plumbing leak

Closed a deal that covered my whole quarter goal, then found water pouring from the office ceiling. Has anyone else had a huge win immediately followed by a massive, random expense?

Man, that's the worst kind of emotional whiplash. It's like the universe saw your big win and decided to balance the scales immediately. I've had that happen with car trouble right after a good month. You're riding that high and then boom, a huge bill just sucks it all away. It feels so unfair when you finally catch a break. Really hope the damage wasn't too bad and you still got to enjoy some of that win.

Ugh, it's the timing that really gets you. Makes you almost scared to be happy about good news, like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop. I wonder if we notice the bad stuff more because it follows a high, so it feels extra cruel.
