Setting firm work hours actually boosted my sales last quarter

Most folks say you have to be on call all day to run a good business. I tried that and just got tired all the time. So, I made a rule to close shop at 5 PM sharp and take weekends off. My staff got happier and we started getting more done during the day. Honestly, my revenue went up because we were all more focused.

Rigid hours might backfire if key clients can only talk after 5, idk. Missing those calls could cost more than being tired ever did.

Totally agree with @xena_brown50 on this. Being too strict with your hours can totally mess things up with big clients. A little flexibility goes a long way!

Actually setting hard limits protects you in the long run. Give one client special hours and soon everyone expects you on call 24/7. What @xena_brown50 calls being tired could really mean burnout from never switching off. That costs way more than losing a single client. Firm boundaries teach people to respect your time and your work.
