A supplier told me to stop haggling and I actually listened
Been buying parts for my service truck from the same guy for 5 years, always pushed for a discount. Last week he just looked at me and said "John, you're killing my margin for zero reason, I already give you the best price." It hit different because he showed me his cost sheet right there. When was the last time someone called you out and made you rethink your whole approach to negotiating?

Oh man, that "used drill press" line hit me right in the gut. My dad once made me drive three hours to pick up a rusted out bandsaw he bought off some guy's porch sight unseen.

Oh man, that's rough. What finally worked for me was just saying "look, I love you dad, but next time I'm not driving anywhere unless I see clear photos and a video of it running first.
