Three years I let my brother borrow $600 and he still acts like it never happened
Last Thanksgiving, my brother showed up to my place in Boise with a new TV in his truck and I finally snapped. I brought up the $600 he borrowed back in 2020 after his car broke down and he said "oh yeah I'll get you back next month" like it was no big deal. That was the last time I let family mix with money. Has anyone else had to cut off a relative over cash they never saw again?

Hell yeah, I've been there. My cousin borrowed $400 from me years ago to fix his truck and then bought a snowmobile the next winter. When I finally brought it up, he got all defensive and said I was being petty. That was the last dime he ever got from me. Some people just don't have the same sense of responsibility when it's family money.

I told my brother straight up I'd never lend him money again and that finally stopped it.
