That time my best friend charged me for gas after a 3-hour road trip
Drove with Sarah from Portland to Crater Lake last summer. She sent me a Venmo request for $12.50 after we got back. Haven't talked to her since June and honestly I'm fine with it. Has anyone else had a friendship die over something that small?

That small price tag of $12.50 just showed you what she actually valued the trip at. I've had the same thing happen with a buddy who Venmo'd me for splitting a pizza after I drove us two hours each way. Best to learn now that some people keep score and others just enjoy the ride, and you can't mix the two.

Ngl @gray6, I think you're kinda glossing over the fact that $12.50 could just mean she's bad at math, not that she's keeping score. Some people genuinely don't think about gas or wear and tear until it's pointed out to them. You might be giving her too much credit for being calculated when she could just be clueless.
