My friend told me to ditch my monthly spread and I almost laughed at her

She said a weekly log was all I needed and that monthly calendars just waste space. Tried it for three weeks and ended up missing two bill due dates because I had no big picture view. Anyone else find monthlies essential or am I just stubborn?

@michaelchen nailed it with the bird's eye view thing. My buddy Dave tried the weekly-only setup last year and it was a total disaster for him. He forgot his car registration renewal and the DMV fees piled up because he couldn't see the whole month at once. He ended up switching back to a monthly spread after that because some months just have too many moving parts to track in tiny chunks. Some of us need that full picture and there's nothing wrong with that.

33rd of the month and I'm already lost without my monthly spread. I pay rent, a car note, and three separate subscriptions that all hit different weeks. Weekly logs just can't show me that the 15th is going to be a nightmare unless I flip through five pages. My friend tried to sell me on the weekly-only life last year and I ended up paying a $35 late fee on my insurance. Some of us need that bird's eye view to survive, and that's perfectly fine.

Honestly I used to side with your friend and thought monthlies were overkill. But after nearly forgetting my own car registration I'm a total convert now. Some of us just need that big picture staring us in the face.
