DAE draw their monthly calendar as a grid of dots instead of boxes? Just tried it and I'm never going back
I've been keeping a bullet journal for about two years now and my monthly spread always looked messy. The boxes were never the same size, my lines wobbled, and by week three the whole page looked like a kid drew it. Last Tuesday I got fed up and tried something different. Instead of drawing little squares for each day, I just put a single dot where each corner would go, then connected them with a ruler. That's it. Twelve minutes for the whole month instead of the 40 I used to spend fighting with a straightedge. The dots give me guide points so nothing drifts, and if I mess one up I can just erase the dot instead of a whole box. I used a 0.3mm fineliner for the dots and a gray marker to shade the weekends, and it honestly looks cleaner than anything I've done in two years. Has anyone else tried dot grids for their monthly log, or do you stick with boxes?
Ha, my buddy tried this after watching some journaling video and he messed up worse than boxes at first because his dots wandered. Turns out the trick is measuring the whole grid once with a ruler, then the dots basically lock everything in place. He swears by it now and his pages look way cleaner than his old box attempts.
