Hit 90 days sober from buying tools I don't need and my garage finally fits a truck
I used to buy a new drill or router basically every paycheck, and last March I counted 14 cordless tools with dead batteries in a milk crate. When I added it up, I had spent about $2,300 over two years on stuff I used once, and my workbench was buried under boxes. I started a rule where any tool over $50 sits in a cart for two weeks, and if I still need it for a real job, I buy it. That killed 9 out of 10 impulse buys, including a $180 biscuit joiner I somehow thought I needed. Anyone else got a waiting trick that actually sticks, or do you just stay out of the store?
