Debate: Is using a nail gun really faster than hand nailing for framing? I tested both side by side last weekend at my shed project.
I spent last Saturday framing a 10x12 shed behind my house. On one wall I used my buddy's Paslode nail gun, on the other I stuck to my old 20-ounce Estwing hammer. The nail gun side took me maybe 45 minutes, but I spent another 20 minutes fixing accidental double-shots and bends. My hammer side took an hour and 10 minutes but every nail was dead straight and set right. So here's the question: are we losing actual build quality for the sake of speed? Anyone else found that the old way still wins in tight spots?

That "20 minutes fixing" time pretty much cancels the speed gain right there.

Buddy of mine tried that, @knight.mason, spent way longer than that.
