Buildertrend vs Nektar? Need advice for 2026 tech stack

Hey folks, trying to decide between Nektar and Buildertrend. We mostly do commercial tenant improvements and light industrial work. Anyone used both recently?

We used BT for years but the app got really sluggish and clunky. We migrated to Nektar earlier in 2026. The interface is much cleaner, and my subs actually use it to check their tasks without complaining.

Wait, was BT really that bad? Calling it "sluggish and clunky" makes it sound totally broken. I used it a few months back and it was fine, just a bit slow sometimes. People always complain when they have to learn a new app, so your subs probably just got over the change. A cleaner interface is nice but hardly a reason to switch your whole system.

BT is decent for custom home builders doing highly customized selections, but for commercial TI, Nektar's document management and daily logs fit the workflow much better in my experience.
