My worst budgeting week ever - $650 gone in 3 days
Last month I had a streak where everything fell apart. First my washing machine stopped spinning on a Monday, then my car needed a $300 brake job Wednesday. By Friday I had spent $650 on things I did not plan for. Does anyone else feel like unexpected costs always hit at the worst possible time?

Honestly, $650 for a washing machine AND car brakes sounds like a steal. You're acting like planned maintenance is some kind of surprise attack when it's just part of owning stuff.

Hold up though, I gotta push back a little on the $300 brakes thing. That actually sounds pretty reasonable for a standard brake job on most cars. Parts alone can run you $100-$150 for pads and rotors if you're doing it yourself, and shops mark that up plus labor. So $300 isn't bad at all, lol. But yeah, having both hit in the same week is brutal. I had a similar month where my fridge died and then my water heater went out two days later, felt like the universe was messing with me.
