My cash envelope system was broken for 6 months because I kept forgetting to close the app
So I started the cash envelope thing in January after watching like 20 youtube videos. I was feeling so good about myself, $40 for groceries extra each week, $25 for fun stuff. Then last week I go to pay for gas with my debit card out of habit and realize I have like $800 sitting in checking that shouldve been in envelopes. I had been using an app to track envelopes instead of actual cash and just... never moved the money. The app said I was on budget but the money was just sitting there. My husband saw me staring at my phone and said 'you look like you just found out santa isnt real.' Now I actually pull cash out on payday. Has anyone else done digital envelope systems and totally missed the whole point?
