My card got declined at Aldi for $23, so I started keeping a $20 bill behind my phone case
The tap worked fine all month until one random Tuesday in Cleveland when the reader said no and I had to walk out with nothing. Now there's a folded twenty taped to the inside of my case, and it has already saved me twice. Anyone else keep a physical backup like this, and where do you stash it?

The "taped to the inside of my case" part is smart, I put mine between the case and the phone too so it never falls out. Folded small enough it doesn't mess with wireless charging either, which was my big worry. Just gotta remember it's there before you panic at the register.
