Warning: farmers market hauls are a trap unless you check the scale

Tbh I compared the Santa Clarita farmers market to the cheap produce stand on Lyons Ave for a month straight. The market looked cheaper but I weighed everything at home and the stand gave me 40% more food for the same $25. Those vendors charge for the vibe and the plastic bags, not the actual weight. Has anyone else caught them shorting the scale or am I just paranoid?

You ever notice how the whole world runs on "vibe pricing" once you start paying attention? Coffee shops charge double for the same beans, boutique gyms charge triple for the same weights, and farmers markets charge for the sunflowers and the chalkboard signs. I did a similar thing with a fancy olive oil stand once, paid $18 for a tiny bottle, then saw the exact same brand at a regular grocery store for $9. It's like we're paying admission to feel like we're living a certain lifestyle, not actually getting more for our money. And the scale thing, yeah, I've caught a few vendors who round up real quick when they think you're not looking. It's not paranoia, it's just the same trick as "artisanal" bread that's half air.
