The $15 hand pruner I bought on clearance lasted exactly 2 cuts before the spring popped out
Had a whole row of dead branches on my neighbor's fence line to trim after that windstorm hit us in Simi Valley last Tuesday, and now I'm sitting here with a broken tool and half a job done, anyone know a brand that actually holds up for under $30?

Is it just me or is $7.50 a cut actually pretty fair these days? I paid $20 last week for a trim and walked out looking like I lost a fight with a lawnmower, so consider yourself lucky, @margareth48. At that rate I might actually let someone near my hair again without mentally preparing my bank account for the hit. Honestly, if you're getting two decent cuts for fifteen bucks, that's not robbery, that's a bargain compared to what I usually shell out for a hack job.
