Changed my mind about buying bulk rice after a mouse problem
I used to swear by buying the 25 pound bags of rice from the Asian market to save money. Then last month I opened my pantry and found a mouse had chewed through the bag and left droppings all over. Had to toss the whole thing, which was about $15 worth. Now I buy smaller 5 pound bags instead and just go more often. Has anyone else dealt with pests ruining their bulk food savings?

Wait, you mean the mouse didn't even leave you a little unpaid rent for all that rice?
Now I just picture my pantry as a tiny Airbnb for critters with no checkout date.
Guess the only bulk savings now are on my stress levels from checking bags for holes every week.

Gotta push back a little @tarar27, storing rice in bags instead of sealed containers is kind of asking for trouble no matter where you live. Isn't a tight plastic bin cheaper than replacing a whole 20-pound bag of rice?
