Walked past the old Price Chopper in Utica and saw a sign for 10 for $10 chicken leg quarters
I grew up in Utica and my mom used to drag me to that same Price Chopper on Genesee Street back when a cart of groceries was maybe $60. Last week I stopped in for the first time in a while and the meat case had chicken leg quarters at 10 pounds for $10, which honestly felt like a time warp. I grabbed two bags and made a big pot of rice and beans with them, plus some roasted potatoes, and fed my family of four for about $14 total. My mom never bought leg quarters back then because she thought they were too fatty, but now they're the backbone of my cheap meal plan. Has anyone else noticed certain cuts getting way cheaper than they were when we were kids, or is it just my store?
