Serious question, I read that a family of four in the UK eats on about $60 of groceries a week and it made me rethink my own cart
I was poking around a money saving forum last Tuesday night and landed on a post from a guy in Leeds who feeds his wife and two kids on roughly 45 pounds a week. That works out to around $60, which sounded like a typo until he broke it down. He said the trick was ditching the packaged snack aisle completely and buying big bags of oats, dried beans, and frozen veg, then cooking one big pot on Sunday and eating off it for days. I did my own math and my family of three spends closer to $190, so I sat there kind of stunned. The part that really got me was him saying they still eat meat, just less of it and stretched into stews and casseroles. Does anyone here actually pull off a weekly number that low, and if so what is the one swap that made the biggest difference for you?
