I wore shorts to my cousin's wedding in Phoenix and my aunt gave me the silent treatment for 6 hours
My cousin got married last Saturday at a place in Phoenix and I showed up in shorts because it was 108 degrees outside. The invite said cocktail attire but I figured nobody would care in that heat. My aunt saw me at the door and just stared at me for what felt like a full minute before walking away. She didn't say one word to me through dinner or the toasts, just kept giving me looks from across the room. I danced anyway and honestly had a great time, but my mom texted me the next day saying I embarrassed the whole family. The weird part is three other guys came up to me during the reception saying they wished they had done the same thing. Has anyone else shown up underdressed to a big event and just owned it?
