Caught myself nodding along to a lecture I didn't agree with, felt dirty
At a work meeting last Tuesday in Portland, I realized I'd been agreeing with a manager's plan for 20 minutes just because everyone else was nodding, even though I knew it would mess up our shipping schedule. I finally spoke up and got a blank stare from the room, and it hit me that I've been doing this autopilot people-pleasing thing for years. Has anyone else caught themselves faking alignment just to avoid the awkward silence, and how did you break the habit?
