Pro tip: I chose a 10-inch over a 12-inch trowel for a tight interior brick wall in a Chicago brownstone and it gave me way better control in the corners.

Has anyone else found a smaller trowel works better for detailed restoration work, or do you stick with the bigger blade for speed?

Always grabbed the 12-inch before, but your tip makes total sense for tricky spots.

Saw a thing once where a carpenter called the smaller size a "problem solver." Makes you realize most jobs don't actually need the biggest tool in the box. It's easy to default to what you know, but the right size for the space just works better. That extra control in tight corners is a game changer.
