My cheater board nearly cost me a whole garage rebuild in Tulsa
Last Tuesday I was laying a long run of face brick on a garage addition and grabbed a warped 2x4 to use as a cheater board, figured it'd be fine for one course. About halfway down the wall I noticed the line was bowing out a full half inch, mortar was already setting and I had to chip out six bricks with a hammer and chisel. Has anyone else had a cheap board sabotage a straight run, or do you always splurge on a proper leveling stick?
