Vent: Took me 4 hours to figure out my pothos wasn't dying, it was root bound

I kept watering it more and more because the leaves were drooping, but the soil was staying soggy and I couldn't figure out why. Pulled it out of the pot at 11pm on a Tuesday and the roots were wrapped so tight around the drainage hole they were basically a solid ball. Has anyone else had a plant trick them into overwatering when the real issue was the pot?
