Update: My indoor herb setup for stress relief is now a bug hotel
I set up a small herb garden by my desk to help with work stress, thinking fresh mint and basil would calm me down. Watered them every day, even got a grow light for extra help. But now the basil has weird spots, and the mint is crawling with tiny flies. I tried moving them to different spots, but the bugs just followed. My whole corner smells like damp soil instead of fresh herbs. I keep swatting at flies while trying to focus, which just adds more stress. Was all this effort really worth it for a few leaves that might not even taste right? Why can't plants just grow without turning into a science project?

Why do small fixes always turn into bigger messes, like matthew_jackson15's bug party?

My basil did that too. Total bug party.

Did you try to save yours, or did you just give up like I did? I mean, my basil was so covered in aphids it looked like it was moving. I tried spraying it with water, but I think I just made it worse. Maybe it's just me, but I have a black thumb with herbs.
