Just realized my 'fixed' VHS copies were ruining movie night for 3 months
I had a stack of old tapes I copied from a friend in Dallas, and every time we watched one the tracking was off and the colors bled together. I kept blaming my VCR and messing with the tracking button for weeks, even bought a head cleaner for $12. Then last Saturday my buddy pointed at the tape and said 'dude, this is a PAL copy, your player is NTSC.' I went through my whole box and found 9 of them were bad region rips I never checked. Now I feel dumb for sitting through that fuzzy Godzilla dub for so long. How do you all sort your tapes before a watch party, or do you just gamble every time?
