Found a bootleg of The Room with a commentary track from a guy named 'Todd'
I grabbed this weird VHS rip of The Room at a flea market in Portland last month for $2. The audio is all staticky and the picture is greenish, but there's this totally random commentary track playing over it. Some guy named Todd just rambles about his ex-wife and how he 'understands Tommy more now.' It's not the official one, it's like some dude recorded himself talking over the whole movie. Has anyone else stumbled on a bootleg with a weird fan commentary like this? I'm dying to know if Todd is a local legend or just some random dude.

...and honestly that's probably more valuable than the official one honestly. See, what people don't realize is that these weird one-of-a-kind bootlegs are like a time capsule of some random person's emotional state. Todd sitting there in his living room, probably 2004 or 2005, recording a commentary track about his ex-wife over The Room. That's not just a commentary, that's a found artifact of heartbreak. I bet there's like a whole underground scene of these things floating around. Like someone could make a documentary just tracking down all the "Todds" of the world and their bootleg commentaries. You should digitize that thing before the tape degrades though, the vinegar syndrome on those old VHS copies is no joke.

Found artifact of heartbreak" - that reminds me, I found a mix CD in a mailbox once with just "Sorry" sharpied on it.
