Spine hinge crack took me 6 hours to fix, was a 20 minute job
Just spent a whole Saturday fighting a cracked hinge on a 1905 encyclopedia I was rebinding. Turns out I had the book cloth tension way too tight, which pulled the spine board off on both sides. Swapped to a looser weave from Talas and re-did it in under 30 minutes. Anyone else waste half a day on something that ends up being a tiny adjustment?
