TIL my book club split into two groups over a 12 page chapter, and I was the one who caused it
I said the ending felt rushed during our Thursday meetup at Dana's place in Portland, and by Saturday six people had made a separate chat called "Team Unfinished" while the rest stayed in the old one, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has accidentally wrecked their club by just being honest about a book.
What worked for us was making the split official instead of fighting it. Half of us liked slow burn literary stuff and half wanted plot, so we just admitted we had two clubs and met on different nights. Turns out nobody was mad, we were all just tired of pretending we agreed on books.
