My book club made me rethink a whole childhood memory
Last Tuesday at our meeting, Susan said she hated 'Charlotte's Web' as a kid. Called it depressing and manipulative. I always loved that book. But then she pointed out how Charlotte does all this work just to die alone. Got me thinking about the ending from her angle. Has anyone else had a book club take totally changed how you ever saw a story?

Hated that book too lol. Charlotte deserved better.

Totally agree, Charlotte was the only one I actually cared about (and maybe the horse). Read somewhere that the author originally wrote a different ending where Charlotte lived, but the publisher made her change it. Makes me wonder what could have been, you know? Still bugs me every time I think about it.
