My book club in Portland just finished our 100th book and the number felt strange
We started with 'The Great Gatsby' back in 2015 and just hit the century mark with 'Klara and the Sun'. Some of us think hitting 100 books is a big win, a sign we stuck with it. Others feel it's just a number and the real point is the talks we had, not counting pages. What's a book club milestone that made you stop and think?

Our club's biggest milestone was finishing 'Ulysses' without a fistfight.

How did you manage that? My group barely got past the first chapter before someone threw a book. We just read short stories now.

Used to think book clubs were for easy reads until I saw elliotpalmer's post. Finishing a book like that as a group is a real win. My old club fell apart over a simple mystery novel, so that changed my mind about what clubs can handle. It proves picking the right people matters more than picking an easy book. How long did your group take to get through it, elliotpalmer?
