Serious question, did a 30 year hand really tell me to run my root pass downhill on a 1/4 inch plate?
Guy on the job in Gary looked at my uphill root on a vertical seam and said flat out that they ran down on anything under 3/8, and I had been burning rod uphill like it was gospel for 6 years. Tried it on scrap the next day just to prove him wrong, and the puddle sat way flatter than I expected. Anybody else switch directions after a random tip, or was this just the one weird way they did it at that shop?
