Picked between two hydro test crews in Gary and the cheap one cost us 14 hours
Last month we had a shutdown in Gary and I had to pick between two contractors for hydro testing on a bank of drums. One crew was $18k, the other came in at $11k, and I went with the cheaper bid to save budget. They showed up with one pump and a guy who had never worked a 900 psi test on a water tube before. We lost 14 hours on holds and had to redo two sections, which ate way more than the $7k we saved. Anyone else got a rule for weeding out low bidders before they get on site?
