Overheard a guy at the game store say 'I only play euros, everything else is just luck'.
It was at The Dragon's Hoard last Friday, and he was talking to a new person looking for a recommendation. I get having a favorite type, but shutting down a whole hobby like that felt wrong. How do you gently push back when someone makes a gatekeeping comment like that?

That "everything else is just luck" line is wild. Says the guy who's definitely never lost a farming game to a bad harvest tile draw. Some of my best game nights have been chaotic messes of dice and laughter.

Bad harvest tiles are the worst kind of luck. They can wreck a whole game plan in one turn. That guy must only play solitaire.
