My barber of 11 years says tipping 20 percent is for suckers, and I think he might be right
I sat in his chair in Akron two weeks ago and watched him turn down a $10 tip from a guy who got a $30 cut. He said the price on the wall is the price, period, and tipping just lets shops keep wages low while customers do the boss's job for him. Half the guys in that shop agreed with him and the other half said he was costing them money. I still tipped him $5 and he handed it back. So which is it, is refusing tips a stand against a broken system or just one guy being stubborn?
