Unpopular take: power hammers spoil the work

I was at a demo in Paducah last spring, watched a guy shape a scroll in under a minute with a 50 lb hammer. Then I went home and spent 3 hours on the same piece with my hand hammer. My wrists still ache, but I know exactly where every blow landed. Am I the only one who thinks the machine shortcuts the feel for the steel?
