Bought a 'bargain' anvil off a guy in Tulsa and it's basically a paperweight
Spent $450 on a 150lb anvil that looked okay in the pictures. Got it home, did the ring test, and it was a dead thud. The face is softer than butter and dents if you look at it wrong. I've lost a whole week of work trying to salvage it. Anyone know a good place to find decent used steel around Oklahoma?

Classic Tulsa bargain, sounds like you bought a boat anchor that failed the vibe check. That dead thud is the sound of your wallet crying. Might as well use it to hold down a tarp. Check the scrap yards over by the rail yard, sometimes they get decent drops from the machine shops.

Did you try the scrap yard on Pine Street?

Was that before or after the vibe check failed?
