Three episodes in and I still can't tell the twins apart in Dark Mirror

I started Dark Mirror on Tuesday thinking it was just a slow burn, but I'm six episodes deep now and I've spent way too long squinting at the screen trying to figure out which twin is which in the flashback scenes. Has anyone else had to rewind like every other episode just to keep the timeline straight, or am I the only one who got lost?

Did your friend make it past season 1? Mine bailed around episode 8 for the same reason. She said the flashbacks all blur together and she gave up trying.
